Yes! Our cleaners are licensed to practice home cleaning in the state of New York, and all of our cleaners are fully bonded and insured.

Do you Offer Eco-Friendly Cleaning Options?

Yes, we do! If you're eco-conscious and prefer green cleaning solutions, let us know. We can discuss the options that align with your values while still delivering a spotless clean.

How Are Maids Vetted and Trained?

Our commitment to excellence begins with our staff. We conduct thorough interviews, comprehensive background checks, and personality assessments to ensure we bring on individuals who uphold our values of integrity and excellence. Once part of our team, employees undergo extensive training to meet City of Good Maids high standards of cleaning and customer service.

How Can I Cancel Without Any Fees?

To avoid a cancellation fee, you must cancel your cleaning within 72 hours of the scheduled date. The cancellation fee that you will be charged increases based on how close to the job you cancel within.

Our fees are 50% of the cost of the cleaning if you cancel within 48-72 hours, 75% of the cost of the cleaning if you cancel within 24-48 hours, and 100% if you cancel within 24 hours of the job.

The rescheduling and cancellation fees are in place to respect our cleaner's time and livelihood. When appointments change last minute, it can disrupt their earnings. These fees help to provide our staff with stability, ensuring that they're compensated for the time they've set aside for you, even if plans change.

Will I Be Charged Before or After My Cleaning Is Completed?

Your card will be charged after the cleaning is completed. This policy is in place to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the quality of our work before any payment is processed. Our aim is to build trust and provide peace of mind, guaranteeing that our high standards align with your expectations.

However, we do require a card on file prior to scheduling your service as a measure of commitment and to streamline the payment process.

What happens if a cleaning takes less time than expected?

In the event that our team completes the cleaning service significantly faster than expected, by at least one hour, we will reflect this in a discount on your next service. However, if the time saved is less than one hour, we do not offer refunds. Instead, we prefer to reward our team for their efficiency, as our primary focus is delivering a quality cleaning rather than rushing through the job.

What If I Notice Any Damage or Something Stolen?

In the unlikely event you discover any damage post-service, please report it immediately to City of Good Maids, if we do not already know about it. We are fully bonded and insured, and promise to thoroughly investigate the issue and resolve it to your satisfaction.

How Do You Handle Electronics and Delicate Items?

Our team is trained to clean with the utmost care, especially when handling electronics and delicate items. We follow strict guidelines to avoid any mishaps, ensuring your valuable possessions are treated with the respect they deserve.

Can I Customize My Cleaning Plan?

Yes! House cleaning is not a "one size fits all" service. You can customize your cleaning plan by selecting exactly what you need completed on our online booking form, or by communicating your specific needs over the phone, through email, or through text.

How Do I Obtain a PDF of My Final Invoice?

Accessing your invoice is straightforward and user-friendly. As a City of Good Maids client, simply navigate to our website and sign in at cityofgoodmaids.com/sign-in. Once logged into your dashboard, click on your name to expand the drop-down menu and select "Your Info & Billing". In this section, you'll find your service history and accompanying invoices.

Once you're on the "Your Info & Billing" page, scroll to the Invoices area—here, you will have the option to print, view, or download a PDF of the invoice for any completed cleaning service. This feature ensures you can keep track of your service records and manage your billing documents with ease and convenience.

Do I need to be home when my house is cleaned?

No, as long as our cleaners have a way to enter your home, you do not need to be home while your home is being cleaned.

Can my animals be out while my house is being cleaned?

Yes, as long as the animal is friendly and not going to get in the way of our staff, animals can be out while your house is being cleaned.

Do you bring your own supplies?

Yes! Our maids will arrive fully equipped with professional-grade cleaning supplies. If you have specific preferences or allergies, inform us beforehand, and we can adjust accordingly to accommodate your needs.

Can I Request the Same Cleaner(s) Each Time?

Yes! Consistency is key to a comfortable cleaning experience. You're welcome to request the same cleaners for each visit, and we'll do our best to accommodate your preference. However, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may need to send a substitute cleaner who is equally trained and qualified.

Do you offer discounts to recurring customers?

Will I Receive Updates on My Scheduled Cleaning Time?

City of Good Maids ensures you're well-informed about your scheduled cleaning by providing three main updates: immediately after scheduling, one day before, and on the day of the cleaning.

We can provide updates via text and email, and will happily accomodate your preferences regarding how you would like to be reminded about upcoming cleanings.

Are Cleaning Services Available on Holidays?

At City of Good Maids, we recognize that holidays serve as precious times for our employees to rest and celebrate with loved ones. To support our cleaners, we may have limited hours during the following holidays:

Our service availability is limited during these periods to allow our team the opportunity to partake in their respective celebrations. The holidays with the highest demand for cleaning services—New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve—may involve increased service charges reflecting their popularity and limited staffing.

For clients with services scheduled on these days, particularly our recurring customers, please be advised that we may need to reschedule to accommodate our team's holiday observance. We will make every effort to provide services as scheduled, but flexibility may be necessary, and in some cases, rescheduling could occur. We assure you that any changes will be communicated promptly and handled with the utmost consideration for your convenience.

What are my options when my cleaning requires more time than expected?

At City of Good Maids, we operate with a 30-minute grace period, meaning that if the job takes longer than expected, but stays within 30-minutes of our agreed upon time, we will stay onsight free of charge to finish the job. However, if we determine that the cleaning is going to take more than 30 additional minutes, we offer our customers two options:

1. Completion within Agreed Time Frame: If keeping within a strict budget is crucial, we can prioritize and complete as much work as possible within the initially agreed time frame. This approach ensures that you stay within budget, focusing on the most critical areas first.

2. Stay Until the Work is Done: Alternatively, if the scope of the cleaning requires more time than initially expected, we can continue working until the job is fully completed. This option may involve estimating and adjusting the final price to reflect the additional time and resources needed. We're committed to providing flexibility, including the possibility of scheduling follow-up visits or discussing payment plans for any extra work required.

How Do You Handle Cleaning with Pets in the Home?

Pets are part of your family, and we treat them with the same respect. However, for non-hair related messes requiring extra attention, such as accidents or litter spills, we add a $60 fee to ensure a thorough clean-up. For the safety of our team, please secure pets as advised during our visit.

What Is Your Policy on Tipping?

At City of Good Maids, tipping is never expected but is always appreciated as a gesture of satisfaction with our service. Please know that 100% of the tips you provide go directly to the cleaners who serviced your home. If you choose to tip, it's a generous way to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.

How does billing change if I sign up for a recurring cleaning service, then cancel future appointments after the first cleaning?

If you sign up for recurring cleaning services, then after the first service, cancel future appointments, you will be billed as if the cleaning you received was a one-time service. Our recurring customers receive discounts of up to 20% of the cost of the cleaning, which means that this price will be added back onto your bill to represent our price to all customers for one-time services. If you decide to schedule recurring cleaning services with us again in the future, you will still enjoy discounts of up to 20% on future cleanings, depending on the frequency of the service.

Is there anything that I need to do before my cleaner arrives?

If you've booked a standard or deep cleaning with us, please try to have dishes cleared from the counters and sink, and remove clutter so that our cleaners can navigate your home prior to their arrival.
